  • 1 cup Chocolate chips Optional; trade for nuts if preferred.
For the Topping
  • 1 tablespoon Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly spray it.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth. Mix in melted butter, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until combined.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder. Gradually combine this with the banana mixture without overmixing.
  4. Add milk to the batter and fold until smooth. Mix in chocolate chips if desired.
  5. Spread the batter evenly in the baking pan. For topping, mix brown sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle over the batter, and optionally dot with pieces of butter.
  6. Bake the brownies for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Let them cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then move to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
