Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine softened unsalted butter with granulated sugar and light brown sugar. Beat until fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the mixture, then mix until smooth.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry mixture into the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Fold in the mini marshmallows and marshmallow fluff if using.
  8. Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spaced 2 inches apart, and bake for 8-10 minutes.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
