Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add your breakfast sausage and cook until browned and crumbled—about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Once browned, sprinkle in flour, stirring to coat the sausage evenly. Gradually pour in the milk, whisking continuously until thickened, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a large baking dish.
  4. Open biscuits and cut them into quarters. Layer half of the pieces across the bottom of the greased baking dish.
  5. Pour half of the gravy over the biscuit layer and spread it gently.
  6. Layer the remaining biscuit pieces on top of the gravy.
  7. Pour the remaining gravy over the top biscuit layer.
  8. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  10. Let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving warm.
