Instructions for Creamy Garlic Butter Shrimp with Rice
- Thaw and rinse 1 pound of shrimp if frozen. Pat dry and season with salt, pepper, and optional paprika and chili flakes.
- In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and keep warm.
- Lower heat to medium, add another tablespoon of butter, then 4 minced garlic cloves. Sauté for 1 minute. Stir in 1 cup of cream and scrape up brown bits. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return cooked shrimp to skillet and toss in sauce. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until heated through. Optionally add a splash of lemon juice.
- Spoon rice onto plates, top with shrimp and creamy sauce, and garnish with chopped parsley or lemon zest.
