Step-by-Step Instructions for Crockpot Orange Chicken
- Start by cutting your boneless, skinless chicken into 1-inch bite-sized pieces. In a shallow dish, coat the chicken pieces evenly with cornstarch.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a splash of olive oil. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the coated chicken pieces in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until browned.
- Transfer the browned chicken to the slow cooker, using a slotted spoon to keep excess oil from going in.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the orange marmalade, reduced-sodium soy sauce, white vinegar, sesame oil, ground ginger, minced garlic, crushed red pepper flakes, and sesame seeds until smooth.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker and gently stir to coat.
- Cover the slow cooker and set it to cook on LOW for 2-3 hours or on HIGH for 1.5-2 hours. Stir halfway through cooking.
- Once cooked, remove the lid and gently stir. Garnish with additional sesame seeds and serve over rice.
