Method

Step-by-Step Instructions for Crockpot Orange Chicken
  1. Start by cutting your boneless, skinless chicken into 1-inch bite-sized pieces. In a shallow dish, coat the chicken pieces evenly with cornstarch.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a splash of olive oil. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the coated chicken pieces in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until browned.
  3. Transfer the browned chicken to the slow cooker, using a slotted spoon to keep excess oil from going in.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the orange marmalade, reduced-sodium soy sauce, white vinegar, sesame oil, ground ginger, minced garlic, crushed red pepper flakes, and sesame seeds until smooth.
  5. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker and gently stir to coat.
  6. Cover the slow cooker and set it to cook on LOW for 2-3 hours or on HIGH for 1.5-2 hours. Stir halfway through cooking.
  7. Once cooked, remove the lid and gently stir. Garnish with additional sesame seeds and serve over rice.
