Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the Marinade: Whisk together white miso paste, soy sauce, honey or maple syrup, rice vinegar, toasted sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger in a medium bowl until smooth.
  2. Marinate the Chicken: Coat the chicken thighs with the marinade, cover the bowl, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to up to 4 hours.
  3. Preheat the Oven: Preheat oven to 400°F and heat your oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Sear the Chicken: Remove chicken from marinade, drain excess, and sear skin-side down in the skillet for 5-6 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Bake to Perfection: Flip chicken and transfer skillet to oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  6. Rest and Garnish: Remove from oven and let chicken rest for 5 minutes, then garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
