Method
 

Instructions for Homemade Orange Candy
  1. Zest 2-3 fresh oranges without the white pith and juice them to get 3/4 cup of orange juice.
  2. In a saucepan, combine orange juice, water, granulated sugar, and corn syrup; heat until sugar dissolves and mixture simmers.
  3. Bloom gelatin in 1/4 cup of cold water for 5 minutes, then add it to the hot syrup until fully dissolved.
  4. Stir in orange zest and optional butter; cook until mixture thickens to a honey-like consistency.
  5. Pour into a greased 8x8 dish, cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for 4-6 hours or overnight.
  6. Once set, cut into shapes and dust with confectioners' sugar.
