Baking Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 9-inch round cake pans thoroughly with butter or non-stick spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, sift together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream together 1 cup of softened butter and 1.5 cups of granulated sugar with an electric mixer for 3-4 minutes.
- Add 4 large eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with 1 cup of whole milk or buttermilk until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for about 10 minutes, then invert onto wire racks to cool completely.
- Cut one of the cooled cakes in half to create the bunny's head, positioning both halves with rounded sides facing up.
- Use the second cake for the body, placing it below the head.
- Frost the cake with your favorite frosting, sprinkle shredded coconut on top, and decorate with candies.
