Ingredients

For the Fries
  • 1 bag Frozen Crispy Fries Use high-quality fries for the best crunch and texture.
For the Burger Patties
  • 1 lb Ground Beef (80/20 blend) Produces juicy and flavorful patties; ground chuck is a great substitute.
  • 1 tsp Kosher Salt Essential seasoning that enhances flavor.
  • 1 tsp Pepper Essential seasoning that enhances flavor.
  • 1 tbsp Butter Optional, adds richness and helps achieve a nice brown color when cooking.
For the Cheese Sauce
  • 1 cup Milk Adjust fat content for desired consistency.
  • 2 tbsp All-Purpose Flour A thickening agent that must be cooked properly to avoid graininess.
  • 2 cups Freshly Grated Cheese For a creamy sauce; avoid pre-shredded varieties to prevent clumping.
For Assembly
  • 1/2 cup Thousand Island Dressing Perfect for drizzling; adds a tangy kick.
  • 1 small Grated Onion Adds extra flavor to the sauce; drain to avoid sogginess.
  • Toppings (e.g., pickles, jalapeños) Customize your dish for added texture and flavor contrast.

Cooking Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). Arrange frozen crispy fries on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  2. Season ground beef with kosher salt and pepper. Divide into six equal portions and shape into thin patties.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Melt butter or drizzle cooking oil into the pan.
  4. Place patties into the skillet, pressing down firmly. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until edges are golden brown, then flip and cook until desired doneness, about 2-3 more minutes.
  5. In a separate saucepan, melt butter and whisk in flour. Gradually add milk until thickened, then mix in cheese until melty and creamy.
  6. Remove fries from the oven and transfer to an oven-safe platter. Top with cheese sauce and distribute cooked patties.
  7. Drizzle with additional cheese sauce and return to the oven for 5-10 minutes to meld together.
  8. Let cool for a minute and serve topped with Thousand Island dressing, grated onion, and any desired toppings.
