Beef Mixture
  • 1 lb Ground Beef Substitute with ground turkey for leaner option.
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil Vegetable oil can be used if unavailable.
  • 3 Garlic Cloves Minced fresh garlic preferred.
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Freshly grated is best.
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce Use tamari or coconut aminos for gluten-free.
Bowl Base
  • 2 cups Rice Jasmine or brown rice preferred.
  • 2 Green Onions Chives can be a substitute.
Customization
  • Vegetables (optional) Bell peppers, spinach, or cucumbers can be added.
  • 1 Egg (optional) Fry sunny-side up or use scrambled tofu.

Cooking Instructions
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat for about 2 minutes. Add sesame oil.
  2. Add the ground beef, breaking it up. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Pour in soy sauce, adding salt and pepper to taste. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Prepare rice according to package instructions if not pre-cooked.
  6. Assemble bowls adding ground beef mixture over rice. Add optional vegetables.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onions and optionally sesame seeds or fried egg.
