Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of mashed purple sweet potato, 1/2 cup of warm milk, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 2 teaspoons of yeast. Stir gently and let sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
- Gradually mix in 3 cups of all-purpose flour and 1 teaspoon of salt. Add 2 tablespoons of softened butter and mix until a cohesive dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-12 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled.
- Gently punch down the dough and divide it into 8-10 equal pieces. Shape them into balls and place on a lined baking sheet.
- Cover shaped buns and let rise for 30-45 minutes until puffed.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake buns for 15-20 minutes until golden and hollow sounding.
- Remove from oven, cool for 10 minutes, and optionally brush with melted butter before serving.

Notes
For best results, use freshly cooked purple sweet potato and ensure yeast is activated properly. Allow ample rising time for maximum fluffiness.
