Preparation Steps
  1. Prepare the wide rice noodles according to package instructions (8-10 minutes), drain, and rinse with cold water.
  2. In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium-high heat for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds until golden and aromatic.
  4. Add sliced red bell pepper and trimmed green beans, stirring for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  5. If using, add protein and cook for 3-5 minutes until fully cooked.
  6. Mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, and sugar in a bowl, then pour over the sautéed ingredients.
  7. Add cooked rice noodles to the skillet, tossing with the sauce for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Stir in fresh basil and sliced chilies, cooking for another minute.
  9. Remove from heat and squeeze lime juice over the noodles.
  10. Serve immediately, garnished with extra basil if desired.
